Ford Fiesta: Seating / Rear Seat Backrest. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTE:
The 40 percent backrest must be removed before the 60 percent backrest can be removed.
NOTE:

All seats

Lower the backrest.

Rotate the backrest hinge locking arm rearward and release the backrest.

Remove the RH seat backrest.
5-Door
-
Remove the rear seat cushion.
Refer to: Rear Seat Cushion (501-10 Seating, Removal and Installation).

Remove the bolt and position the rear center safety belt aside.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
All seats
-
-
Lower the backrest.
-
Rotate the backrest hinge locking arm rearward and release the backrest.

Remove the LH seat backrest.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Repair
NOTE:
If the seatbelt webbing does not extract from the seatbelt
retractor from the stowed position, this may be due to a normal
condition which happens when the seatbelt retracts at a high rate of
speed. Follow these steps to release the seatbelt.
