Ford Fiesta: Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems / Hood Latch Release Cable. Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-VCT (88kW/120PS) – Sigma, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Refer to: Battery Tray - 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-VCT (88kW/120PS) – Sigma (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).
   Refer to: Battery Tray - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – Sigma (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the left headlamp.
   Refer to: Headlamps (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Diagnosis and Testing).
   

1. Raise and support vehicle.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

1. Remove the lower washer reservoir bolt.
   

1. Lower the vehicle.
   

1. Remove the upper washer reservoir bolt and position the washer reservoir aside.
   

1. Disconnect the hood latch cable from the hood latch.
   

1. Release the hood latch release handle retaining tab and remove the hood latch release handle.
   

1. Position aside the hood latch release cable.
   

1. Route the hood latch release cable and grommet through the cowl panel.
   

1. Remove the hood latch release cable from the inside of the passenger compartment.
   

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
