Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the headliner.
    Refer to: Headliner - 4-Door (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Headliner - 5-Door (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
    1. Disconnect the roof opening panel drain hoses.
    1. Remove the roof opening panel frame bolts.
    1. Release the retaining clips and with the help of an assistant, lower the roof opening panel frame.
  1. 4-door vehicles.
    With the help of an assistant, remove the roof opening panel frame.
  1. 5-door vehicles.
    With the help of an assistant, remove the roof opening panel frame.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
  1. Align the roof opening panel.
    Refer to: Roof Opening Panel Alignment (501-17 Roof Opening Panel, General Procedures).

    Remove the driver seat.

    Remove the parking brake cable adjustment lock nut.
    Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.
