Ford Fiesta: Roof Opening Panel / Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization. General Procedures
Initialization
NOTE:
A new roof opening panel motor only moves towards the vent position until it is initialized.
NOTE:
An initialization procedure that was interrupted or not
completed can be started again after cycling the ignition from ON to OFF
and back to ON again.

Place the ignition switch in the RUN position. For
initializing an existing roof opening panel motor, skip to Step 6.

For a new roof opening panel motor, press and
hold the front portion of the control switch until the roof opening
panel glass moves slightly past the full vent position (approximately 2
mm (0.0787 in)) and stops.

NOTE:
(Movement starts approximately 3 seconds after the switch is pressed)
Quickly (within 0.5 second) release, then press and hold
the front portion of the control switch while the roof opening panel
glass move to the full open position and then back to the full closed
position.

Release the switch and verify successful initialization
by performing one-touch open and one-touch vent operations.

For an existing roof opening panel motor,
press and hold the front portion of control switch until the roof
opening panel glass moves to the full vent position, then release the
switch.

Press and hold the front portion of the control switch
for approximately 10 seconds until the roof opening panel glass moves
slightly past the full vent position (approximately 2 mm (0.0787 in))
and stops.

Quickly (within 0.5 second) release, then press and hold
the front portion of the control switch while the roof opening panel
glass moves to the full open position and then back to the full closed
position.

Release the switch and verify successful initialization
by performing one-touch open and one-touch vent operations.
The roof opening panel motor/module must be initialized when
repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system or
when the roof opening panel motor, glass, assembly, or air deflector has
been removed or replaced for any reason...
Adjustment
NOTE:
The roof opening panel must be in the CLOSED position.
Loosen the roof opening panel bolts on both sides.
Measure and adjust the front of the roof opening panel glass to roof clearances as shown...
