Flat Headed Screw Driver
Hog Ring Plier

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Passenger seat

  1. Remove the OCS sensor.
    Refer to: Occupant Classification System (OCS) Sensor (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).

All driver seats

  1. Remove the front seat.
    Refer to: Front Seat (501-10 Seating, Removal and Installation).
  1. Recline the front seat backrest.
    1. Remove the bolt cover.
    1. Remove the bolt.
      Torque: 35 lb.in (4.0 Nm)
    1. Remove the recline handle.
    1. If equipped.
      Release the retaining clip and remove the height adjustment handle.
      Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver
    1. Remove the screw.
      Torque: 27 lb.in (3.0 Nm)
    1. Slide forward and remove the side shield.
    1. Remove the screw.
      Torque: 27 lb.in (3.0 Nm)
    1. Pull the recliner cover up then out.
    1. Release the clip and remove the recliner cover.

Driver heated seats

  1. Disconnect the heated seat electrical connectors and position the wiring harness aside.

Driver seat except Recaro™

  1. Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover aside.

Driver Recaro™ seat

  1. Detach the J-clips and position the cushion cover aside.

All driver seats

  1. NOTE: Base seat shown, Recaro similar.

    Detach the cushion cover J-clips.

Driver Recaro™ seat

  1. NOTICE: Use care when separating the cushion trim cover from the hook-and loop strips, or the hook-and-loop strips can be torn from the cushion foam pad.

    On both sides.
    Release the hook-and-loop strips and partially invert the seat cushion cover.
  1. NOTICE: Use care when separating the cushion trim cover from the hook-and-arrows or the hook can be torn from the cushion foam pad.

    On both sides.
    Release the hook-and-arrows from the seat cushion cover.

All driver seats

  1. Remove the cushion cover and foam as an assembly.

Driver Recaro™ seat

  1. NOTICE: Use care when separating the cushion trim cover from the hook-and arrow strips, or the arrow can be torn from the cushion foam pad.

    NOTICE: Use care when separating the cushion trim cover from the hook-and loop strips, or the hook-and-loop strips can be torn from the cushion foam pad.

    On both sides.
    Release the hook-and-arrows, release the hook-and-loop strips and remove the seat cushion cover.

Driver seat except Recaro™

    1. Invert the cushion cover.
    1. Remove the hog rings.
    1. Invert the front and rear of the cushion cover.
    1. Remove the hog rings.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
