Removal

Disconnect the battery.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
Vehicles with 1.0L EcoBoost or 1.6L EcoBoost engine

Detach the retainer and position aside the wire harness.
All vehicles
-
Remove the nuts and the battery hold-down bracket.
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)
-
Remove the battery.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Vehicles with 1.0L EcoBoost or 1.6L EcoBoost engine

If replacing a battery, use the scan tool to carry
out the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) reset after the battery is
connected.
