Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: Not all procedure steps are required for some components.

Mirror Assembly

  1. Remove the front door speaker.
    Refer to: Front Door Speaker (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Front Door Speaker (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Front Door Speaker (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the exterior mirror electrical connector and remove the nut cover.
  1. Remove the nut and the exterior mirror assembly.
    Torque: 115 lb.in (13 Nm)

Mirror Glass

  1.   WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    NOTICE: Apply hand pressure directly over the center of the mirror. Failure to follow this instruction may result in glass breakage.


    Remove the exterior mirror glass.
    1. Position the mirror glass fully in and up.
    1. Using a flat blade screwdriver, insert the blade between the mirror glass and motor. Twist and release the mirror glass.
    1. If equipped.
      Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the exterior mirror glass.

Mirror Motor


  1. Remove the exterior mirror motor.
    1. Remove the exterior mirror motor screws.
    1. Position the exterior mirror motor.
    1. Release the tabs and disconnect the exterior mirror motor electrical connectors.

Mirror Cover

  1. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the exterior mirror cover retainer.
  1. Release the tabs and remove the exterior mirror cover.
  1. Align the inner lower corner of the mirror cover with the groove in the mirror frame.
  1. Align the mirror cover tabs with the slots on the mirror frame and install the mirror cover. Press the mirror cover into place and the lock tabs are fully seated.

Mirror Turn Signal

  1. Disconnect the mirror turn signal electrical connector, release the tab and remove the mirror turn signal.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component to the left-hand side.

    Remove the nuts and position aside the remote brake fluid reservoir.
    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) Remove the strut and spring assembly upper mount nuts.
    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
