Ford Fiesta: Engine Cooling - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – Sigma / Coolant Shutoff Solenoid Valve. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Drain the cooling system.
   Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03B Engine Cooling - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – Sigma, General Procedures).
   

1. Remove the engine appearance cover.
   

1. 1. Disconnect the resonator tube.
      
   2. Release the clamp.
      
   3. Detach the grommet.
      
   4. Loosen the clamp and remove the resonator assembly.
      
   5. Loosen the clamp.
      
   6. Position aside the CAC outlet pipe.
      

1. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

1. If equipped.
   Remove the underbody splash shield fasteners and the underbody splash shield.
   

1. 1. Remove the bolt.
      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
   • Disconnect the electrical connector and the vent tube.
     
   • Loosen the clamp and remove the CAC inlet pipe.
     

1. Remove the bolts and position aside the throttle body.
   Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

1. Disconnect the coolant shutoff solenoid valve electrical connector, detach the retainer and position the wiring harness aside.
   

1. 1. Release the clip.
      
   2. Disconnect the coolant hose.
      
   3. Remove the bolts and the coolant shutoff solenoid valve.
      Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
