Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe (303-12B Intake Air Distribution and
Filtering - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – Sigma, Removal and
Installation).

Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.
-
Detach the wiring harness retainers and remove the catalyst monitor sensor.
Material: Motorcraft® Penetrating and Lock Lubricant
/ XL-1
Installation

NOTE:
The correct torque wrench setting must be calculated
when using a commercially available exhaust gas sensor socket to
install the catalyst monitor sensor. Refer to the Torque Wrench Adapter
Formulas in the Appendix.

Lubricate the O-ring.
Material: Motorcraft® High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant

Install the catalyst monitor sensor and attach the wiring harness retainers.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Connect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

Install the air cleaner outlet pipe.
