Ford Fiesta: Rear Disc Brake / Brake Caliper. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1.   WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this manual, refer to health and safety warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

1. Remove the wheel and tire.
   Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
   

1. NOTICE: If the fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

   Loosen the fitting and disconnect brake hose from the brake caliper.
   Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

1. 
   
   • Push the brake caliper lever forward.
     
   • Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
     
   • Push inward on the tabs, detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper bracket and position aside the parking brake cable.
     

1. Remove the bolts and the brake caliper.
   Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   

1. Bleed the brake caliper.
