Ford Fiesta: Body Closures / Hood Alignment. General Procedures

Inspection

1. Check the body to the hood dimensions.
   Refer to: Body and Frame (501-26 Body Repairs - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks, Description and Operation).
   

Adjustment

Right/Left and Fore/Aft

1.  
   Loosen the nuts to permit movement of the hood.
   Loosen: 2 turn(s)

1. Loosen the bolts.
   Loosen: 2 turn(s)

1. Adjust the hood to specification.
   Refer to: Body and Frame (501-26 Body Repairs - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks, Description and Operation).
   

1. Tighten the nuts.
   Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

1. Tighten the bolts.
   Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

1. Check the body to the hood dimensions.
   Refer to: Body and Frame (501-26 Body Repairs - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks, Description and Operation).
   

Up/Down

1. Check the body to the hood dimensions.
   Refer to: Body and Frame (501-26 Body Repairs - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks, Description and Operation).
   

1. On both sides.
   Loosen the bolts to permit movement of the hood.
   Loosen: 2 turn(s)

1. Loosen the bolts.
   Loosen: 2 turn(s)

1. Adjust the hood to specification.
   Refer to: Body and Frame (501-26 Body Repairs - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks, Description and Operation).
   

1. On both sides.
   Tighten the bolts.
   Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

1. Tighten the bolts.
   Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

1. Check the body to the hood dimensions.
   Refer to: Body and Frame (501-26 Body Repairs - Vehicle Specific Information and Tolerance Checks, Description and Operation).
